BBVA among world’s top multinational workplaces

November 2, 2015

BBVA Compass’ parent company, Spain-based BBVA, landed among the world’s top 10 multinational workplaces, according to international consultancy Great Place To Work. This marks the second time the global financial services institution has been on GPTW’s top 25 list, with the first recognition coming in 2013.

BBVA, at No. 8 on the list, was the top-ranked multinational in the financial industry. Google landed the top spot overall, with other world-renowned names — among them American Express and Microsoft — rounding out the list.

According to Great Place To Work, two-thirds of a company's workplace assessment is based on an employee survey; one-third is based on the company's policies and practices.

“This is great recognition for BBVA because it represents how our employees globally view their work experience,” said BBVA Director of Talent & Culture Donna DeAngelis. “It reflects our belief that the right work environment for our employees will deliver the best experience for our customers.”

With a global workforce of more than 100,000 employees — more than 10,000 of them in the U.S. — and a footprint that extends through 31 countries, the BBVA Group has been on the Great Place to Work rankings in Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Venezuela.

“What an honor to be among the other great companies on the list,” said BBVA Compass Head of Talent & Culture Rosilyn Houston. “We’re part of a great organization whose mission statement is to build a better future for people, and that pointedly includes our employees.”
